Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJ. E. J. (ED)FAHLGREN A Giant is gone. J.E.J. (Ed) Fahlgren passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 9, 2001. Mr. Fahlgren, a pioneer of the Red Lake District gold camp, dedicated his life to building a vibrant community in this part of Northwestern Ontario. It indeed, became a model for many others. His working life was consumed with ensuring citizens had the best schools, hospitals, roads and recreational facilities possible. As an advocate, he spoke directly to Premiers and Prime Ministers. He chaired and wrote the Ontario Royal Commission on the Northern Environment. Ed Fahlgren was always a leader of immense vision, wisdom and kindness. His community deeply mourns his passing. Memorial services will be held in Cochenour United Church at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2001. Condolences may be addressed to: jfahlgre@red-lake.lakeheadu.ca
